Brief reminder of Part 1 (without mistake ).
After the merger of the 2 French troupes, the Comédie Française was created. The creation of this institution dates back to 1812. Despite a few changes, it remains current and unique. The organisation of this oldest French theatre is based on alternation : diversity in the registers of shows and the programming of 5 different plays in the course of a week.

But the alternation also concerns the performers : as the Troupe perform up to eight plays simultanously on the Comédie-Française ' s three stages (in addition to the plays on tour ), several actors are assign to the same role. In this way, the actors take it in turns to offer the public a very wide range of performances. The sixty or so actors who make up the Troupe have the particularity of working on several texts at the same time, prose or vers, classical or contemporary, and as many artistic registers, approaches to staging and interpretations, sometimes at the oposite ends of the spectrum.
This alternation can be find in all the trades, with different shows taking place in a day according to a very strict schedule. Let ' s take the example of the stagehand. In the morning, he dimantles the previous day ' s set and rassembles the next set for the reharsal, which starts at 1pm and runs until 5pm. This set has to be dismantled to reassemble the evening ' s set. Props assistants complete the set or place props in a specific place backstage. In this way, the actor, at a precise moment in the show, can pick up the object to continue the show. Once the set has been clear, the electricians step in to adapt the lighting (spotlights, chases, etc. ) to the show. All the trades are involved at clearly defined times.

The Comédie Française is an institution that is respected for the choice of its shows and for the alternation of professions that is present from the beginning to the end of the chain. Don ' t the beehive and the bees symbolise the emblem of this organisation?
