Refuse, deny or contradict - English lesson

    ➡️ deny:

To say that something is not true.
    Example:
The doctor denied having caused the death of his client by giving the wrong medication.

    ➡️ refuse:

🔹 To say that you will not do something that someone has asked you to do.
    Example:
Little Nicolas refuses to do his homework.

🔹 To say that you don't want something that has been offered to you.
    Example:
Little Nicolas refused the help of his sister. He didn't want to do the homework at all, either with or without help.

🔹 When a thing doesn't do what you want or expect it to do.
    Example:
Despite a year of expensive private tuition in maths, Anton's brain still refuses to add 1 and 1 correctly.

    ➡️ contradict:

🔹 To say that something somebody else has said is wrong and that the opposite is true.
    Example:
"My wife is the most beautiful woman on Earth," claims Brian.
"No!" contradicts his mate Steve. "Mine is much more beautiful!"

🔹 When two pieces of evidence are so different from each other that one of them must be wrong.
    Example:
The news on TV often contradicts reality.

Now it's up to you to show that you have well understood by filling in the gaps with either refuse, contradict or deny ! Good luck !
