    Comparison


    Allow you to compare two people or two objects.

     

     

    • Comparison of equality: 'as' + adjective + 'as'

    => His neighbours are as noisy as mine. 


    • Comparison of inferiority: 'less' + adjective + 'than'

    => She is less clever than her sister.



    • Comparison or adjective of inferiority :

    Short adjective: adjective + 'er' +'than'

    => It is darker than outside! 

    Long adjective:  'more' + adjective + 'than'

    => You should be more careful than that!

     


      Irregular:

    good, wellbetter than
    badworse than
    farfarther than

       Ending in -'y' => -ier :

    happyhappier
    earlyearlier

         Short vowel between 2 consonants:

    bigbigger
    fatfatter

    Exercise : 


    examples :  It was less easy than I thought.  (easy  - )                 

                     His horse is faster than mine.  (fast  + )                

                     She is as clever as his brother. (clever  = )
