Every mornings Philou, Nelly ' s dog, wakes her up by licking her hands, as he wants her to take him for his morning walk, for half an hour. They go at a walk though the neighbourhood, Philou is intensely snifing all the traces left by his congeners, along the pole and low walls, and in turn, he marks his territory. The morning walk doesn ' t go very far. There are much dogs in this residential place in the west of England : it is a pretty static walk! Philou never fells to greet Felicy ' s, a she-cat perched on the marple tree, to enjoy the very first rays of the morning sun on her jet-black four that shines, as if she were waxed, her eyes half-closed while carefuly observing everything that could happen around her. Then Nelly goes home, cooks the meals and finally she is getting read to go to work.
