On the norther mountains at the border of Laos and China, we look for ethnic groups. The Red River has dig a large gorge accross the Hoang Lien Son mountains. The landscapes are very miscellaneous : rice fields, plantations of tea on terraces, misty tropical forests, lots of lakes and waterfalls. Perched at an altitude of 1650 metres we reach Sapa, it main square and surrounding allees where the market takes place in saturdays. An astonishing mosaic of blue and red silhouettes roam the aisles. Women, sitted on the ground, sell their works : silver jewellery, embroidered bags and scarves, wicker baskets. We visit a school and we are received by a Hmong family. Their house is built on stilts and the roof is covered with palm leafs. When we come out, some young girls wait for us, praising their works with a large smile. How not give into temtation ?
