The sky darkens to become dark blue-grey shaded with lavander, a colour that evoke for me the stormy summer skys of my Provence. The pressure and the temperature go down as the wind pick up. ' We feel the rain ' quiet rightly : the rheumatics say it because their old pains come back. You can feel it with your whole body, especially your sense of smell, because from the first drops of tepid rain on the ground, the petrichor smell, stealthy but so pleasante, spreads in the air, to fade instantly : I do love this magical moment and thank the sky every time, hoping that the storm will not be destructive, which happens when the earth forms a kind of compact and dry clayey crust, that the water does not manage to sock but flows from our concreted hills. This petrichor smell lasts only a few second. The scent is all the more intense the warmer the ground. It is the result of bacteria and all this precious live contained in the sol.
