Brief reminder of Part 1 (without mistake ) :

    ----------------
These covered passages represent a tru architectural heritage of the 19th century. They each have their own specificitie and decoration inspire by neoclassicism, Renaissance or art deco styles. They were glased, heated and lit with gas, allowing people to leave the embarrassement of Paris with all its risques. They had became places of light, meetings, shopping, entertainment and all this sheltered from bad weather.

Today, Paris has only twenty or so that are open to the public. Even if they have lose their former luster, the covered passageways retain their charm and allow you to discover, under a soft, subdue light, a poetic, exentric and unusual Paris.
