    Brief reminder of Part 1 (without mistake ) :
    Silk is obtained from the silkworm called Bombyx of the mulberry tree. In its process of transformation into a butterfly, the worm makes a cocoon made of very fine threads : cocoon which will have to be unwound to be a technical process.

    With the arrival of the popes in Avignon at the begining of the 14th century, mulberry cultivation was introduce into the region. In the 15th century, there were 8000, weaving loms in Tours in 1546. Henry IV gave a strong impulse to sericiculture and 4 million mulberry trees were planted in Provence and Languedoc. Lyon become the world capital of silk in the 19th century.
    The room where the silkworms are reered is called the ' silkworm farm or silkworm nursery ' . Particular conditions are necessary for this type of rearing : aeration with frequent air renewel is essential, since the air is rapidely vitiated by the worms breathing; the temperature is from 22 to 24°C; light is essential, since in principle the worms live in the open air. Feeding must be do at regular times : 4 times a day in small quantityes to provocke their greed.

    To this day, there are still a few magnaneries in France, which can be visited for educational purposes only.
