Present simple or past simple
In the present simple we use do/does + verb to make questions. Does he write everyday? When do you go on holiday?
In the past simple we use did + verb to make questions. Did he talk to you yesterday?
The verb 'be' stands alone =We don't use do/ does/ did with it. Is he in the office now?
We use was/were with the word 'born'.
INCORRECT CORRECT EXPLANATION
Was you busy yesterday? Were you busy yesterday? (Never put 'was' with 'you' )
Are you go to the bank last week? Did you go to the bank last week? (We don't use 'be' with verbs.'Go' is a verb)
When is he born? When was he born ? (We use was/were with 'born')
Do you hungry? Are you hungry? ('hungry' is not a verb so we cannot use 'do')
Do he like tea? Does he like tea? (The third person singular uses 'does' in the present)
