Brief reminder of Part 1 (without mistake ) :
The Géode with its exceptional spherical architecture is an evocation of the Earth. Its technological prowess is the work of engineers and inventors. Its dimensions are impressive. Its design was inspired by the different layers of the onion.

This sphere is above all an extraordinary cinema. There are 400 seats inclined at 27° which allow you to observe the enormeus 1000 m2 screen. This impressive surface represents 10 times the surface area of the largest existing screns in Parisian cinemas. Its shape is hemispherical with a diameter of 26 m. As a result, this screen can project gigantix images at 180°. The sound is produced by twelve speaker with a power of 21000, watts. Seated in comfortable armchairs, the spectator is immerged in the centre of the action. In 2009, the sphere innovated with 3D. The films shown lasted about an hour. The themes proposed seek to combine the instructive with the sensational, and help to understand certain elements of nature or history. It is also a place where you can enjoy broadcats of world events, so the establishment retransmit some operas or concerts filmed.

In 1985, when it open, there was one million spectators per year, then its attendance had fell to 500000, in the years 2000-2010 and to just over 300000, in 2016.
The Geode closed its doors on 30 November 2018 for two years for renovation. In view of the Covid epidemie, the hall has not reopened yet. Nevertheless, from the outside, it is possible to contemplate this architectural and technological feat with this unique mirrored sphere.
