Present Continuous Tense
Before you begin, this tense is also known as the Present Progressive Tense.
The Present Continuous Tense helps us talk about actions that are happening right now or are unfinished.
Imagine you're describing what someone is doing at this very moment! 🕒
We often add “-ing” to the base verb to form this tense. For example:
- “She is eating an apple.”
- “They are playing soccer.”
- Start with the subject (who is doing the action).
- Add the verb “to be” in the present tense (am, is, or are).
- Follow it with the base verb + “-ing.”
- I am reading a book.
- He is dancing in the park.
- They are studying English.
