Short answers - verb to be in present

To make a short answer with the verb 'be' we write : 'Yes + subject + verb'    or  'No + subject + verb + not/n't'

In spoken English we often use contracted forms when we give 'no' answers.

Examples :No, he isn't.( 'not' is contracted)

No, we aren't ('not' is contracted)

In 'yes' answers it is not correct to use contractions.

Example: Yes, they are. = correct.

                  Yes, they're = incorrect.
