🟢 1. Basic Colors
These are the most common colors in English - with examples :
Red = Apples, hearts
Blue = Sky, ocean
Yellow = Sun, bananas
Green = Grass, leaves
Black = Night, hair
White = Snow, paper
Orange = Carrots, pumpkins
Pink = Flowers, candy
Purple = Grapes, eggplant
Brown = Chocolate, tree bark
Grey/Gray = Clouds, elephants
🇬🇧 Grey = British spelling
🇺🇸 Gray = American spelling
✨ 2. Light and Dark Colors
You can make a color lighter or darker using:
Light = a pale or soft version of a color
Dark = a deep or strong version of a color
🧾 Examples:
light blue = a soft or pale blue
dark green = a deep, strong green
light pink = soft pink (like baby pink)
dark grey = deep grey (almost black)
✏️ Example sentence:
I like wearing dark blue jeans.
(= I like jeans that are a deep blue color.)
🌟 3. Other Color Words
You can also use:
Bright = very strong or shiny
Example: bright yellow = very strong yellow
Pale = very soft and almost white
Example: pale pink = almost white-pink
Deep = strong and rich
Example: deep purple = strong purple
Neon = very shiny and fluorescent
Example: neon green = very bright green
