    Britain is a monarchy. England a king or queen over a thousand years. One of the famous was Henry VIII, who king in 1506 and reigned 1547. He broke away from the Roman Catholic Church so that he divorce and marry again. Elizabeth II on the throne 1952 and is generally very popular. I think she has quite an unenviable job.
