    Past simple:

    Example : He met her yesterday. 

    ✔️ Finished actions: I went to England last year. I'm in France now.

    ✔️ Often with a finished 
    time word: "last year", "in 1999", "two hours ago".




    Present perfect:

    Example : The plane has landed. We'll soon meet them.

    ✔️ Unfinished actions: I've lived in Australia for 5 years. I'm still in Australia.

    ✔️ Life experience: I've learnt Japanese. I know how to speak Japanese.

    ✔️ Consequences in the present: I've eaten all the cookies. There is no cookie left for your sister.
