Active and Passive Voice
Examples:
a) I eat an apple.
An apple is eaten by me.
b)I am eating an apple.
An apple is being eaten by me.
c) I have eaten an apple.
An apple has been eaten by me.( pay attention to the subject)
d) I ate an apple.
An apple was eaten by me.
e) I was eating an apple.
An apple was being eaten by me.
f) I had eaten an apple.
An apple had been eaten by me.
g) I will eat an apple.
An apple will be eaten by me.
h) I will have eaten an apple.
An apple will have been eaten by me.
i) I would eat an apple.
An apple would be eaten by me.
j) I would have eaten an apple.
An apple would have been eaten by me.
When there is someone(somebody...), they or people. We don't write the agent.
ex.: They ate an apple.
An apple was eaten. (we don't say 'by them')
Someone eats an apple.
An apple is eaten.(we don't say 'by someone')
We don't say 'by people'
