    Dear Sir/Madam,

I wish to lodge a complaint about a holiday we took at your hotel recently. First of all, your advertisement promised us 'huge, luxurious bedrooms'. Our room (be) very small and the beds (be) uncomfortable. As a result, we (sleep) very badly for the whole time we were there. We (be) not at all happy with your so-called 5-star restaurant. The quality of the food (be) very poor and the meals (be) always the same. We (speak) to the catering manager on our third day at the hotel and he (promise) us he would make some changes, but he clearly (do) not do anything about it while we were there. Your advertisement (describe) a 'beautiful sandy beach'. It was covered with seaweed, dead jellyfish and rubbish which is certainly not our idea of a beautiful beach. However, the weather (be) so bad that we could not have sat on the beach anyway; it (rain) every day. We also (have) a few unpleasant experiences with your staff. Some of them (be) very rude and one of them even (shout) at us when we left our bedroom light on one evening. We look forward to receiving an apology and compensation.

    Yours sincerely,

    Margaret and John Walker
