Pourriez-vous corriger ce que j'ai fait pour le thème suivant ?

Thème :
Ma mère prenait le thé dans le jardin. Debout à ses côtés, légèrement incliné, une main déjà posée sur le dossier de la chaise, M.Zaremba attendait une invitation à s’asseoir qui ne venait pas. Comme il y avait un sujet de conversation qui ne laissait jamais ma mère indifférente, il n’eut aucune difficulté à éveiller son attention.
- Il y a une chose, Nina, dont je tenais à vous parler depuis quelque temps déjà. Il s’agit de votre fils.
Elle buvait toujours son thé beaucoup trop chaud, et, après s’être brûlé les lèvres, elle avait l’étrange habitude de souffler dans la tasse pour la refroidir.
- Je vous écoute.
- Ce n’est jamais bon - je dirais même que c’est dangereux - d’être fils unique [...]
- Je n’ai aucune intention d’adopter un autre enfant, répliqua-t-elle sèchement.
- Je ne songeais à rien de ce genre, voyons ! murmura M.Zaremba qui n’avait pas cessé de contempler la chaise.
- Asseyez-vous.
Le peintre s’inclina pour la remercier et s’assit. [...]
- Je voudrais seulement vous dire que cela aiderait Romain s’il y avait un autre homme à vos côtés. A condition, bien entendu, qu’il s’agisse de quelqu’un de compréhensif et qui ne se montrerait pas trop exigeant.

C'est un bon travail, on peut améliorer quelques points :

... qui ne se montrerait pas trop exigeant. est un conditionnel, que vous avez traduit par un futur.
M.Zaremba, who was standing up beside her : to stand up, se lever, est un mouvement. to stand, être debout, une position.
légèrement incliné, pour moi, indique une flexion vers l'avant, slightly bent signifie légèrement tordu, j'aurais dit leaning forward.
was waiting to be invited to sit down, what hadn’t happened yet. Pour éviter une maladresse de répétition d'infinitifs, on pourrait dire was waiting for an invitation to sit down which still hadn't been given. Attention à la différence entre what, que ou ce que après virgule, et which qui, ce qui.
Comme il y avait un sujet de conversation qui ne laissait jamais ma mère indifférente, Si on interprète la pensée du narrateur, on pourrait dire :
Since he knew there was this one topic of conversation my mother would always react to,...
je tenais à vous parler ne correspond pas à votre dont j'aurais aimé vous parler (would have liked).
-She was drinking her tea, that was too hot. that ne convient pas derrière une virgule, il faudrait which et même là, comme l'indique gerold, elle buvait son thé, qui était trop chaud, ne correspond pas à elle buvait toujours son thé trop chaud, elle n'attendait jamais qu'il refroidisse.
she coldly answered. il y a le verbe to retort, répliquer, qui a un côté déplaisant sans doute utile ici.
as he hadn’t stopped admiring the chair. il n'admire pas la chaise, ce n'est pas une question d'esthétique, il brûle d'envie de s'asseoir. On pourrait dire :who was still purposefully staring at the chair
D'habitude, sur ce forum, les demandeurs postent leur version corrigée afin que l'on voie comment ils ont utilisé nos conseils ou corrigé leurs erreurs.
