    Infinitive phrases - function
    Message from mohammadalro posted on 14-07-2026 at 16:35:47 (D | E | F)
    Hello
What is the grammar function of the infinitive or the infinitive phrase in the following sentence ?

I seem to have made foolish friendships ever since.

to have made = perfect infinitive

I know that the verb ( seem ) is always an intransitive verb, so ..

in the above sentence the infinitive phrase ( to have made friendships) is a nominative here and likely is a subject complement.

Please can anyone support and tell whether my analysis is correct or wrong?

    Thank you in advance.
