    Confused/Passé composé
    Message de loluser posté le 27-10-2009 à 04:33:34 (S | E | F)

Hi. I don't really understand Passé Composé.
If it is "Je," are you supposed to make it feminine, by adding an "e?"
My French teacher told us, that if you are a girl, you add and e, by making it feminine. But, if you are a guy, just leave it by making it masculine.
    Is that true??

    Hello,
Yes your teacher is right; you say:
    Je suis venue (female)
    Je suis venu (male)
    Best wishes.

if you use the auxiliary "ÊTRE" it s true
But if you use the auxiliary "AVOIR", it depends.

    Hi ravel12,
Anyway,if you use "avoir" there is no trouble because the past participle will depend on the object not on the subject.
J'ai mangé une pomme : 'je' girl or boy ,it will be 'mangé'.
    Best wishes.
