    Proposition infinitive/doctor 's
    Message de faithfull posté le 03-04-2012 à 15:24:50 (S | E | F)
    Hello,

    I
have a question regarding an answer in an exercise about 'proposition infinitive'.

He persuaded me to go to the doctor/me to go to the doctor's
Il me persuada d'aller chez le médecin.

    1) me to go to the doctor's / 2) me go to the doctor / 3) I to go to the doctor's

so my question is, why do we add the apostrophe and "s" for doctor?
As I know it expresses the possession, and here I don't really feel that!!

Please could you clarify and explain me more?
    Thanks in advance
    Cordially

    Hello,
to go to the doctor's means aller chez le doctor.
    "'s" is for "chez".
    see you.
