    If only / I wish
    Message from josdavidmo posted on 15-09-2012 at 15:33:20 (D | E | F)
    Hello,

    Could you help me please?

I wish we would go / could go to the match on Saturday but we're visiting my uncle.
Can I use 'could go' instead of 'would go'?
    Thank you for your answers.

    Hello,

Yes both are possible but I think 'could go' is better as we can read the reason why it is impossible: but we're visiting my uncle.
    Regards.

Thanks! It appeared in one of the exercises about I wish/If only.

    Hello

Lucile is correct. 'could' is the only correct answer in this example.
