    Message de vaiana posté le 09-02-2019 à 03:34:55 (S | E | F)
    Hello.
Could you help me with my exercises, please?
    Thanks.

    CONSIGNE: TRADUIRE
The gangsters must have known where the money was hiden.

It has been ages/awhile since I haven't eaten any oyster.

It was ready for quite a while, but we haven't been warned.

    - Pourquoi est-ce que tu pleures ? – J’ai lu un roman sentimental.
"Why are you crying?" "I've read a sentimental novel."

CONSIGNE: METTRE LES PHRASES AU PASSIF SI CELA EST POSSIBLE.
1 They are moving the furniture out first.
The furniture is being moved out first.

2 They want John to resign his position.

3 They have been putting rumours about.
Rumours have been being put about.

4 They are operating on my pet monkey.
My pet monkey is being operated.

5 No one has told the police where to go.
The police have not been told where to go.

    Hello.

    -hiden (orthographe)
    -It's been ages since I have = I haven't ... in ages

    5 bon

    See you.

    Hello.

    -"Must known" est sûrement faux.
-Je dirais simplement "an oyster" ("any" traduirait plutôt "aucun").

Et j'en ai oublié un :
    -est (... depuis) --> have been, donc était (... depuis) --> ?

    See you

    Hello,

    - I don't understand what I have to write instead of "must have known"
    - An oyster: okay...got it!
    - est (... depuis) --> have been, donc était (... depuis) --> had been

    See you soon

    Hello.
-Yes, "had been" (And therefore the present perfect at the end is invalid; replace "haven't been" with )
-In fact I was asking what the difference is between "devraient" and "ont dû" in French. I know that "ont dû savoir" means "must have known". I think "devraient savoir" means "needed to know" which is slightly different (= "Il leur fallait savoir" ). To put it simply, I think it should be "needed to know", but I'm not sure because my French isn't good enough
    See you.
