    Bonjour,

    Pouvez-vous me dire s'il vous plait si mes phrases avec "as" signifiant "tandis" "alors que" sont justes, et sinon me dire pourquoi?

    *Comment faire la différence avec "car"?
    He worked as you were standing here like statue!
    -Il a travaillé alors que tu restais planté là telle une statue!
    -*il a travaillé car tu restais planté là.

    I was trying to put the fire out as they were arriving.
    J'essayais d'éteindre le feu tandis qu'ils arrivaient.

    As n'est pas un mot passe-partout.
    On dira plutôt:
    He worked while you were standing there like a statue!
    I was trying to put the fire out when they arrived.
