    Message de nada1 posté le 31-05-2008 à 14:52:20 (S | E | F)

    Hello
    Which one of the two sentences seems to be more correct than the other one?
    1. The man whom you saw him with me yesterday is my brother ,or I omit the pronoun him
    2 . The man whom you saw with me yesterday is my brother
    Thank you for any answer

    Hello,

    2 . The man whom you saw with me yesterday is my brother is the correct sentence.

    In the first one, the pronoun "him" is a mere parasite!

    The second sentence is the correct one; however, it would be more natural to omit "whom" as well:

    The man you saw with me yesterday is my brother.

    Thank you Sarra and Traviskidd
    yes it's natural to omit "whom" and it's natural also to let it since it's a relative pronoun that refers to "a man"which is an object here
    --->you saw the man
    The man is my brother
    The man whom you saw is my brother
