Does it mean something for natives ?
    Message de ffrraamm posté le 03-03-2009 à 17:04:14 (S | E | F)

    Hi everybody,

In order to contact somebody again for an internship, I wrote a short letter to inquire on the status of my application. I'll conclude this short letter with:
"I will not take your time again to read a longer letter. For further details, please consider my previous letter and resume, which are again enclosed to this email."

Does it sounds natural for you ? I would dou do something very polite but not excessive...that's not an easy thing.

    Thank for your help !

The first sentence is of course correct, but doesn't sound natural. Maybe something like "I don't intend to take up your time with a longer letter." is better.

Also, be sure to put the accent marks on "résumé".

And one "attaches" things to e-mails (and "encloses" things with ordinary mails).

    Bonjour,

The response suggested by TravisKidd is fine.
Personally, I might phrase the first sentence " I do not wish to take up your time with a long letter."

    Good morning ffrraamm!

    My suggestion:

Rather than take up your time with a longer letter, please refer to my previous letter dated XX XX XXXX for further details I have enlcosed it as an attachment to this Email.

    Good luck!
    Intrepid

    Hi all,

Thanks for you answers. I didn't know that we use "é" in English. How can you tip it on your keyboard ? That's a special combination, isn't it ?

    Thanks !

    Indeed it is!
To get "é", just keep the Alt key pressed and simultaneously type 130 on the numeric keypad.
Et le tour est joué !
By the way, "résumé" is the French word that has been borrowed in English, with a slightly different meaning though.

One small precision: you have to have NumLock on for this method to work.

    Bonjour,
Indeed, you could check your résumé in a café while having a pâté sandwich!

    Bonjour ffrraamm,

    Thanks for your answer everybody
