A bird in the hand is worth(or better than) two in the bush.= "Un "tiens" vaut mieux deux "tu l'auras".

-To kill two birds with one stone = "faire d'une pierre deux coups".

Je vais regarder sur mon petit livre I'll look it up in my book "Idiomatics". A+ See you later.

Very nice, thanks, but can a bird also define a person such as French idioms "vieille chouette " or "vieux hibou" ?

    - As you have an early bird , you have a night's owl (somebody who is still up when everybody is asleep).
Sorry I addressed you in French too, but I am so used to working on bilingual forums .
Still looking for my book ! A+
