    Article/ question
    Message from jimacx posted on 07-04-2019 at 12:09:49 (D | E | F)
    Hello,
    Could you help me please?

I was checking through a test and was marked wrong on this question, can anyone explain why 'the' was marked as the wrong article)?
Question- Which basket do you want an apple from?
I want an apple from that basket.
However, if someone asked me, which apple do you want, I would reply:
I want the apple from that basket.
    Is this wrong?

    Hello!
red is forbidden on the Forum ... ( and so is pink!)

"I want the apple from that basket." would mean that there's only ONE apple in that basket... and that you want it.
"I want an apple" would mean that there are several ones... and that you want one!
Yet, the question "which" implies there are several baskets... => "I want an apple from that basket (which is under the table... not the basket which is on it!)
