    Vocabulary: Lucy's bedroom

There is a sacred territory, soon to be forbidden to moms... Lucy's bedroom! You're allowed a visit today, but it's quite exceptional ...

    1) The bed and bedding: Lucy wanted to have (bunk beds) to be able to invite her friends... Mom and Dad refused that, but have accepted a trundle bed (under Lucy's). On her bed, there is a mattress, sheets and blankets, or rather her duvet or quilt, her pillow (with its case).

                 A single bed

                Bunk-beds

              A fitted-sheet

                 Cushions

                             A blanket

                A duvet (-cover)

                A pillow (case)

                  A bed cover

                A carpet (GB)/ a rug(US)

Lucy plays hopscotch on her special carpet/rug

    2) Near the bed:

A bedside table (GB)= Nightstand (US)

                  A (bedside) lamp

                      An alarm (clock)

                          A desk

                      A (desk) lamp

                     A swivel chair

                            Shelves

                        Boards

                   A chest of drawers

On the shelves (a shelf), there are books, of course,  but also games, boxes, and baskets to put toys away.

Of course, Lucy would be really annoyed if she couldn't put her toys away, very fast, in ...

her toy box / her toy storage box.
